Mass Burial for Victims of Niger Bandit Attack

A mass burial was held for victims of a violent attack in Niger, where bandits reportedly killed 30 farmers during a series of assaults on February 14, 2026. The attacks began around 3:00 AM in Tunga Makeri village, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and the burning of houses.

The bandits later moved to Konkoso Pissa, where 26 more people were killed, and several buildings, including a police outpost, were set ablaze. The violence lasted for several hours, with approximately 200 bandits involved.

Many residents fled to safer locations, including New Bussa, while others remained unaccounted for. The Niger State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the attacks and the number of casualties.

Efforts to rescue victims are ongoing, but the Niger State government, represented by Barrist Mauric Magaji, has not responded to inquiries regarding the situation.
