Victor Umeh Defects from ADC to NDC Over Disputes

Victor Umeh, the Senator representing Anambra Central, has officially defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). He announced his decision during a Senate plenary session on Tuesday, where he presented a letter of resignation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Umeh cited prolonged internal disputes and unending litigation within the ADC as the primary reasons for his departure. He stated that he made this decision after wide consultations with his family and constituents, expressing a commitment to contribute to national development through the NDC platform.

Umeh confirmed that he formally left the ADC on May 1 and joined the NDC the same day. He noted that the ongoing crisis within the ADC made it difficult for him to continue his membership.

The Senate President briefly congratulated Umeh following his announcement.
