Bishop Oyedepo Warns Youths Against Sports Betting

During a sermon on Sunday, Bishop David Oyedepo, the Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, cautioned young Nigerians against engaging in sports betting, asserting that it is not a viable path to financial freedom or lasting prosperity. He described gambling as a destructive habit that could jeopardize their futures.

Oyedepo urged the youth to abandon the pursuit of quick wealth through betting, stating, “Young people, Naija Bet is not the way to financial fortune. Stop wasting your destiny.” He emphasized that genuine success is achieved through hard work, discipline, and patience, rather than through games of chance.

He encouraged young people to remain steadfast, even when success seems slow, and highlighted that achievements based on integrity and diligence are more sustainable. To illustrate the importance of gratitude, he shared a personal story about honoring the woman who introduced him to Christianity when he was 15 years old, stating he gifted her a car on his 60th birthday.
