Oyedepo Urges Focus on Security Over Bus Preaching Ban

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has urged the Nigerian Federal Government to focus on tackling the country's security challenges instead of attempting to regulate preaching in commercial buses. His comments came in response to a proposed amendment to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Act, which would impose penalties on individuals found preaching in commercial vehicles.

Oyedepo expressed concern over the government's priorities, questioning why it is addressing bus preaching when insecurity is rampant across Nigeria. He emphasized that the safety of citizens should take precedence over policies targeting religious activities in public transportation.

The bishop highlighted the plight of individuals unable to sleep in their homes due to insecurity, stating, “That should not be the issue,” and called for the government to redirect its efforts toward protecting the lives of Nigerians.
