Enugu Air CEO Confirms Benin Incident Not a Crash

Captain Tolu Ita, the Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Manager of Enugu Air, confirmed that the airline's recent incident at Benin Airport was not a crash or emergency landing. The aircraft, an Embraer E170, was operating Flight 4264 from Lagos when it experienced a runway excursion due to hydroplaning during landing on Thursday.

Ita stated that all 63 passengers and five crew members were safe, with no injuries or fatalities reported. A full investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, which will issue a preliminary report within 30 days.

Ita emphasized the airline's commitment to safety and thanked all involved for their support. The incident led to the temporary closure of Benin Airport's runway, affecting operations of Air Peace.
