Amaechi Claims Jonathan, Wife Forced Him Out of PDP

In a recent interview with Channel Television, Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, alleged that he was compelled to leave the People's Democratic Party (PDP) because of actions taken by former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan. Amaechi described a series of political disagreements with Jonathan, particularly regarding party primaries and governance policies.

He noted that he had multiple discussions with Jonathan about these issues, emphasizing the need for inclusive governance in Nigeria, which he believes is essential given the country's diverse interests. Amaechi expressed that the PDP's actions were unjust and likened his experience to what he faced when he was part of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He criticized the PDP for its internal politics and the influence of Jonathan's wife in the party's structure in Rivers State, stating that he could not remain silent in the face of such injustices.
