Lagos State Rescues Malnourished Child from Neglect

The Lagos State Government intervened to rescue a malnourished child who was reportedly abandoned by her mother due to accusations of witchcraft. A viral video showed the three-year-old toddler in distress, appearing malnourished and drinking from a dirty plastic container.

The video was shared by a social media user known as "thegrandmaboi," who raised the alarm about the child's condition. Following the outcry, Ridwan Ajetunmobi, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, confirmed that the state government took action to rescue the child.

Mobolaji Ogunlend, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, stated that a team was dispatched to trace the child's address and verify the claims. The child is now in the custody of the state government, and the police are investigating the matter further.
