Lagos Police Declare Mushin Safe After Bomb Scare Incident

The Lagos State Police Command declared Mushin safe after responding to a bomb scare on Monday, triggered by reports of an improvised explosive device. The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, visited the area to assess the situation following a distress call about an alleged explosion received in the early hours of the day.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) unit were immediately deployed to the scene. The police cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search and recovery operation to determine the nature of the incident.

Authorities confirmed that no explosive devices were found, and the area was declared safe. During his visit, CP Tijani Fatai urged residents of Mushin and surrounding areas to remain calm and assured them of adequate security measures to safeguard lives and property.

This incident follows a previous explosion on Taiwo Street, Idi Araba, linked to scavengers attempting to dismantle a military-grade grenade, which resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
