New York City Mayor Makes Pre-K, 3-K Programs Accessible Regardless of Immigration Status

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani revealed that the city's pre-K and 3-K programs are available to all children, irrespective of their immigration status. During a press briefing, Mamdani highlighted that neither children nor parents are required to disclose their immigration status to enroll in the programs.

The aim is to ensure that every child in New York has access to early childhood education, aligning with the city's long-standing policy of providing educational opportunities to all residents. The enrollment for the free early education programs for four-year-olds and three-year-olds in New York City is currently open until February 27, 2026.
