Oluremi Tinubu Urges Support for Husband's 2027 Bid

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu appealed to the electorate in the South-East to support her husband, President Bola Tinubu, in his bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at a women's empowerment programme in Owerri, Imo State, she expressed her desire to enjoy a better Nigeria in her old age.

She encouraged women to vote for her husband, assuring them that the administration would work for their benefit. The event, part of a women’s empowerment initiative coordinated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, aims to support 18,500 women nationwide.

In the South-East, 500 women from each of the five states will receive equipment, while in Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma supported an additional 2,000 women, totaling 2,500 beneficiaries. Mrs. Tinubu also announced a cash grant of ₦100,000 for each beneficiary present.

This appeal comes as political parties prepare for the upcoming elections, with President Tinubu seeking re-election amid opposition from figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
