AY Questions African Tech After Driverless Uber Ride

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, took a driverless Uber ride in Atlanta, United States, and humorously questioned, “When our own juju go upgrade?” AY shared a video of his experience on his official Instagram account on Sunday, showcasing himself inside the vehicle as it operated without a human driver. He expressed amazement at the technology, comparing it to certain practices associated with Africa, and inquired when similar advancements would occur on the continent.

In his post, he noted, “I entered Uber in Atlanta… na Jaguar, but driver no dey!, Oyibo don use technology make motor drive itself,” highlighting the contrast between the technological advancements in the U.S. and the traditional practices he associates with Africa.
