Davido Backs Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Amid Opposition Divisions

In an interview with News Central on Tuesday, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, stated he would bet on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027, citing the fragmentation among opposition politicians. He noted that many politicians in the South are vying for the presidency, which complicates the opposition's ability to unite against Tinubu.

Davido argued that a unified opposition could pose a significant challenge to the president but lamented the lack of collaboration among them. He referenced the recent Osun State governorship election, where his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, won with 511,067 votes against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes.

Davido had previously distanced himself from Nigerian politics, labeling it "evil," and clarified that his involvement in the election was solely based on family loyalty, emphasizing he did not mobilize support or rely on external backing.
