School Building Collapse in Lagos Avoids Casualties

On Monday around noon, a four-story school building housing Yemco Nursery Primary Comprehensive College in Lagos collapsed. The incident occurred at 11 Adudatu Street, behind County Hospital in the Aguda area of Ogba.

Eyewitnesses reported that the building collapsed just three minutes after students and staff were evacuated, resulting in no confirmed casualties. Prior to the collapse, the structure had shown signs of structural issues.

The Lagos Fire Rescue Service and other authorities responded to the scene, while the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has yet to issue an official report regarding the incident. The timely evacuation of students and staff was crucial in preventing fatalities during this unfortunate event.
