Violence Erupts in Nasarawa North APC Primaries

Violence broke out during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the Nasarawa North senatorial district, resulting in injuries to an official. The conflict occurred on Monday at the Akwanga distribution center, where supporters of Governor Abdullahi Sule clashed with those of former Deputy Governor Sila Agara.

Eyewitnesses described the situation as chaotic, with reports of supporters exchanging blows and an attack on an electoral officer, Mr. Jamu, who was hospitalized with a head wound.

Despite the violence, the situation in Akwanga later calmed, with many people gathering to discuss the incident and condemn the violence. In the Nasarawa Eggon local government area, Governor Abdullahi Sule won the senatorial primary, receiving 2,570 votes, while Sila Agara garnered 166 votes, with a total of 2,736 voters accredited for the election.
