Falconets Adjust Squad for U-20 World Cup Due to Visas

Nigeria’s Falconets have made two late changes to their squad for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland after captain Joy Igbokwe and midfielder Faridat Abdulwahab were unable to secure entry visas. Consequently, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) called up Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi as replacements.

Visa delays previously impacted the team's travel plans, but 20 players eventually arrived in Poland on Tuesday. Under the guidance of head coach Moses Aduku, the team has settled in Trzebnica and commenced preparations for the tournament.

The Falconets trained on Wednesday at the Stadion Miejski, Fair Play Arena, focusing on tactical organization, technical execution, physical conditioning, and team cohesion. As part of their final preparations, Nigeria will play two international friendlies: against hosts Poland at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on August 28, and against Korea Republic at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium on September 1.

These matches will help Aduku and his technical crew assess the squad and finalize tactical plans before the tournament begins.
