CAF Suspends Two Super Falcons Players Before Egypt Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended two players from Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Oluwatosin Demehin and Jennifer Echegini, ahead of their crucial final group match against Egypt in the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026. This decision comes after the Super Falcons managed to recover from a surprising loss to Malawi, securing a 1-0 victory over Zambia on Saturday.

Demehin received a straight red card in the 40th minute for a foul on Barbra Banda, while Echegini was issued a yellow card, marking her second booking of the tournament, which automatically triggers a one-match suspension under CAF’s disciplinary rules. The Super Falcons are now looking to qualify for the knockout stages without the contributions of these two key players.
