NSC Doubles Super Falcons' Goal Bonus Ahead of WAFCON

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a significant financial boost for Nigeria's Super Falcons, doubling their goal bonus from $5,000 to $10,000 for each goal scored during the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, made this announcement on Thursday, just before the team's quarter-final clash against Cameroon.

In addition to the NSC's increased bonus, the Nigeria Customs Service has pledged an additional $10,000 for every goal scored, bringing the total reward to $20,000 per goal. The Super Falcons have already scored six goals in the group stage, earning a total of $120,000.

Despite a defeat to Malawi in their final group match, the NSC has approved full match bonuses for all three group games. This decision reflects the commission's commitment to motivating the players as they aim for another continental title.

The quarter-final match against Cameroon is anticipated to be a fierce rivalry, with both teams vying for a place in the semi-finals and a spot in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
