Super Falcons to earn $5,000 per goal at WAFCON 2026

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has introduced a cash reward of $5,000 for every goal scored by the Super Falcons during the group stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. This initiative is designed to motivate the team as they prepare to defend their continental title.

Nigeria's opening match in Group B is against Malawi, with the Super Falcons aiming to secure their 11th WAFCON crown. The financial incentive applies to all three group matches against Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt, encouraging players to maximize their scoring potential.

The Super Falcons, led by head coach Justine Madugu and captain Rasheedat Ajibade, are considered favorites due to their strong squad and historical success, having won the tournament a record 10 times. The NSC's initiative reflects its commitment to rewarding excellence in Nigerian sports, as the team seeks to continue its tradition of attacking football and secure victories in the group stage.
