Super Falcons Announce Squad for WAFCON 2026 Title Defense

The Super Falcons, under the guidance of head coach Justin Madugu, have unveiled a 25-player squad to defend their title at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026. The tournament is scheduled to occur in Morocco from July 14 to August 16, 2026.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi, recognized as Africa's best, are among the notable selections. The squad also features players such as Osinachi Ohal, Jennifer Echegini, and forward Asisat Oshoala.

Nigeria, the defending champions, aims to secure their 11th title against teams like Egypt, Zambia, and debutants Malawi in Group C. This edition of the tournament will include 16 teams, with four advancing to the semi-finals, and will provide automatic qualification spots for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons have a rich history, having participated in every FIFA Women’s World Cup since its inception 35 years ago.
