Flying Eagles Lose 2-0 to Burkina Faso at WAFU B U-20

On Sunday, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles faced a 2-0 defeat against Burkina Faso in their last group match at the WAFU B U-20 Championship. The Young Stallions scored both goals in the first half, with Alassane Bagayogo and Mohamed Zongo finding the net.

Following this loss, the Flying Eagles finished second in Group B, accumulating six points from three matches. Burkina Faso topped the group with seven points from the same number of games.

As a result of their standings, Nigeria will advance to the semi-finals where they will compete against the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire. Meanwhile, Burkina Faso will take on Niger Republic in the other semi-final match.

The two finalists from this championship will qualify for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
