Ampem Darkoa Protests WAFU-B Final Loss to Edo Queens

Ampem Darkoa Ladies, a Ghanaian football club, have formally protested their defeat to Edo Queens in the final of the 2026 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after regulation time, leading to a penalty shoot-out where Edo Queens won 4-1, securing their second WAFU-B title.

Ampem Darkoa's management has lodged a protest with both WAFU-B and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), arguing that the decision to proceed directly to penalties was not communicated to them and was contrary to the CAF Women’s Champions League Regulations. They have requested that either the 30 minutes of extra time be played or that the match resume from the point it ended before the penalty shoot-out.

The protest is now pending consideration by the relevant authorities at WAFU-B and CAF.
