Waltersmith Doubles Refining Capacity to 10,000 BPD

Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited has announced the successful completion of its phase 2 expansion, doubling its refining capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 barrels per day (BPD). This milestone was showcased during an official inspection visit by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The upgraded facility will introduce an expanded product slate, including premium motor spirit, aviation turbine kerosene, and additional products, which are expected to improve supply reliability in Nigeria's transport and aviation sectors.

The project received praise for its compliance with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 and highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing large-scale energy infrastructure. Waltersmith plans to further expand by developing an industrial park and free trade zone to attract petrochemical manufacturers.
