WapTV to Air New Batch of Nigerian Movies from May 2026

WapTV, a leading family entertainment television channel in Nigeria, has finalized the acquisition of broadcast rights for a fresh batch of Nigerian movies. This new collection, which will commence airing on May 2, 2026, includes top-tier productions in English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba languages.

The lineup features renowned actors such as Rita Dominic, Jumok Odetola, Odunlade Adekola, Segun Arinze, Yinka Quadri, Ali Nuhu, Tina Mba, Victor Osuagwu, Allwell Ademola, Fausat Balogun, Yetunde Wunmi, Belinda Effah, Ifeanyi Kalu, Ayo Olaiya, Don Brymo, and Tijani Faraga, among others. WapTV's management stated that this initiative aims to provide viewers with the best indigenous content suitable for the entire family.

The channel is known for its extensive reach, broadcasting to millions of families across Nigeria and several African countries through major digital TV platforms, including DStv 262, GOtv 102, StarSat 189, and PlayTV 275.
