Northern Governors' Wives Meet to Address Water Issues

The Northern Governors’ Wives Forum held its first quarterly meeting on Friday at the Zamfara State Government House, chaired by Hajiya Asma'u Inuwa Yahaya, the wife of the Gombe State Governor. The meeting aimed to discuss initiatives to enhance the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups in the northern region.

A key resolution from the meeting included the continuation of borehole drilling projects to address water supply challenges. The forum also announced plans to launch new charitable projects in 2026 and committed to observing International Charity Day on September 5 each year.

Subsequent meetings are scheduled to occur every four months, with the next one planned for July or August 2026. The forum expressed its dedication to driving positive change and improving living conditions in the northern region.
