Sokoto Governor's Wife Advocates for Grassroots Support

Hajiya Fatima Ahmad Aliyu, the wife of the Sokoto State governor, organized a stakeholders' meeting aimed at ensuring that government support effectively reaches grassroots women. During the meeting, she highlighted the importance of reviewing current strategies to enhance the benefits of various government intervention programs for women, particularly those in rural areas who face significant challenges.

Hajiya Fatima noted that the current administration has introduced several support programs to improve the lives of women in the state, including food distribution, cash assistance for widows and vulnerable groups, and training for women farmers in modern agricultural techniques. Additionally, she mentioned initiatives aimed at empowering unemployed women through vocational training in trades such as knitting, baking, and hairdressing.

The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including the wife of the deputy governor, Hajiya Aisha Idris, and other notable women leaders, who commended the governor's wife for her efforts to improve women's welfare across Sokoto State.
