Waterlight Save Initiative Advocates for Clean Water Access

The Waterlight Save Initiative, represented by founder Iyk Bede and President Princ Ero Ibhafidon, called for urgent global collaboration at the United Nations STI Forum 2026 to transform water systems through scientific and technological innovation. They emphasized the need for stronger action to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which focuses on clean water and sanitation.

The initiative highlighted the persistent challenges faced by vulnerable communities, especially in Africa, including water insecurity, poor sanitation, and the impacts of climate change. They proposed integrating innovative water systems with renewable energy and digital technology to enhance climate resilience and improve access to clean water.

The organization aims to expand its programs to reach millions of children and young people across Africa, advocating for bold policy commitments and investments to deliver real impact at the grassroots level.
