D’Tigers Defeat Rwanda 106-62 in World Cup Qualifiers

D’Tigers, Nigeria's senior men's basketball team, concluded a successful qualification window for the FIBA Basketball World Cup by defeating Rwanda 106-62 on Sunday. Under the guidance of head coach David Fizdale, the team showcased a commanding performance, with point guard Uch Iroegbu leading the offense with 17 points and seven assists.

Other key contributors included Caleb Agada, Ikechukwu Mekowulu, and Stan Okoy, each scoring 13 points. Nigeria dominated the match from the start, winning the first quarter 25-14 and leading 49-29 at halftime.

The team continued to assert their dominance in the third quarter, extending their lead to 80-44. This victory capped a perfect qualification window, having previously secured hard-fought wins against Tunisia (84-81) and Guinea (80-79).

With this performance, Nigeria finished the three-game window with a perfect record, advancing to the second round of the qualifiers scheduled for August 2026 to February 2027.
