PDP Denies Meeting with ADC Leaders Amid Election Talks

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), represented by Nyesom Wike, refuted claims of a meeting with leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Wike emphasized that the gathering, which involved members of the Taminu Turaki-led faction, was not sanctioned by the PDP.

The party clarified that its current focus is on internal planning, particularly in preparation for upcoming primaries, and that any claims surrounding the meeting do not reflect the official position of the PDP. The meeting reportedly lasted two hours and included discussions on national issues and potential cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Notable attendees included David Mark, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi, alongside ADC's national secretary Rauf Aregbesola and former Attorney General Abubakar Malami. The PDP plans to share detailed timelines and guidelines for its primaries at the appropriate time.
