Labour Party Denies Operating Social Media Accounts

The Labour Party, under the leadership of Nenadi Usman, has officially stated that it does not manage any social media accounts, responding to fraudulent accounts operating in its name. The party's statement, signed by Ken Eluma Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser on Media to the Interim National Chairman, emphasized that preliminary checks revealed these accounts had been previously disowned by the party in February.

The Labour Party has approximately 12,000 followers on its inactive Facebook account and around 837,000 followers on the fraudulent account identified as @labourpartyng. The party has reported the matter to the Nigerian Police to facilitate the recovery of its official accounts.

The investigation is being handled by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Umar Farouk, and relevant intelligence departments. The Labour Party has advised the public to disregard any information from the fraudulent accounts, particularly posts claiming unauthorized statements regarding Mr.

Peter Obi and Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, which do not reflect the party's official position.
