Kwankwaso Confirms Alliance with Obi for 2027 Elections

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, confirmed the possibility of a joint ticket with Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, for the 2027 general elections. In a live interview on Trust TV, Kwankwaso suggested that their camps share similar political goals and may work together under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

He discussed the strong ideological alignment between their movements, focusing on improving the country and addressing challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians, especially the youth, who struggle with unemployment and insecurity. Kwankwaso mentioned his recent engagements with members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, which supports Obi, and expressed a commitment to pushing national interests.

He noted that both movements aim to realize their goals for a better Nigeria, reflecting on their experiences from the 2023 presidential elections, where Obi contested under the Labour Party and Kwankwaso represented the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
