We Run Non-Partisan Mandate – EFCC Replies ADC, Dismisses Witch-hunt Allegations

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has responded to allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, denying claims of a politically motivated witch-hunt. The ADC had accused the EFCC of selectively targeting opposition members ahead of the 2023 general elections, following the arrest of former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, emphasized the agency's non-partisan mandate, stating that corruption allegations are investigated regardless of political affiliation. Olukoyede condemned attempts to politicize the EFCC's work and urged Nigerians to focus on fighting corruption rather than engaging in political distractions.

He reassured that the EFCC is committed to investigating and prosecuting corruption cases across party lines.
