ABU VC Celebrates 40-Year Wait for Road Reconstruction

Prof. Adamu Ahm, the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), commended the ongoing reconstruction of the university's internal roads, a project that has been anticipated for 40 years.

During an inspection of the project, he described the initiative as unprecedented and beyond expectations. The reconstruction is being executed in collaboration with the university's engineering department to ensure adherence to engineering standards.

Kaduna State Governor Sen. Uba Sani extended this intervention to federal universities without a formal request, urging northern governors to emulate this support.

Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahm, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Road Agency (KADRA), inspected the project, which is part of a larger initiative involving 150 road projects covering approximately 1,345 kilometers across Kaduna State's 23 local government areas.

Abdulrahman Aliyu, the Student Union Government President, expressed gratitude for the governor's intervention, while Abdullhakeem Hamza, the project engineer, reported significant progress, including completed drainage work and ongoing pavement construction, with expectations for completion by the end of the rainy season.
