Kaduna Abductees Rescued After Enduring Two Weeks of Captivity in Harsh Conditions

183 individuals, including women and children, were rescued in Kaduna after being abducted on January 18, 2026, and spending two weeks in captivity. Victims like Hosea Madami, Rebecca Josiah, Philomena Jonathan, and Theresa Irimiya shared harrowing experiences of physical abuse, hunger, and being forced to trek in harsh conditions.

The victims were deprived of basic necessities, such as bathing, and endured constant threats and beatings by their captors. The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, confirmed the successful rescue efforts and expressed gratitude to all involved, including the federal government and security agencies.

The victims were found in a forest settlement, with some suffering from exhaustion and physical ailments. Governor Sani emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to prevent future abductions in the region.
