Fubara Commits to Supporting NYSC in Rivers State

On Friday, during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch B Stream II orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, represented by Dr. Promise Oguzie, the permanent secretary of the Cabinet Bureau, pledged his administration's commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Fubara stated that the state government would intentionally provide necessary support to enhance the experiences of corps members. He urged the 3,584 corps members, comprising 1,421 males and 2,163 females, to be exemplary and dedicated in their service.

Mr. Moses Oleghe, the state coordinator of NYSC Rivers State, encouraged the corps members to view their deployment as an opportunity to contribute to the state's growth and to serve with integrity, especially as they will be engaged as INEC ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.

The ceremony was officiated by the chief judge of Rivers State, represented by Justice Godspower Aguma.
