Fubara Reaffirms Support for Nigerian Army in River State

On Sunday, during the 163rd Nigerian Army Day celebrations in Port Harcourt, River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reaffirmed the state's commitment to collaborating with the Nigerian Army. He described the partnership as central to maintaining peace and fostering economic growth in River State.

Fubara expressed appreciation for the Nigerian Army's efforts in maintaining law and order, stating that security is vital for a prosperous society. He paid tribute to fallen military personnel, acknowledging their sacrifices for Nigeria's unity and democratic growth.

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, noted that the celebrations provided an opportunity to strengthen public support and deepen civil-military relations. He emphasized the importance of trust and cooperation between citizens and the military in addressing security challenges.

The Nigerian Army has undertaken several community development projects, including the renovation of secondary schools and the provision of solar power and boreholes, to improve the welfare of local communities.
