Wike Warns PDP Defectors to Reclaim Party Mandate

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has threatened members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the PDP will reclaim its mandate. Wike's remarks were made during a gathering with a faction of the opposition party led by Abdulrahman Moham.

He called on PDP members across various states, including Delta, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Bayelsa, Taraba, Plateau, Zamfara, and Adamawa, to unite and work towards regaining their lost mandate. Wike described the mandates as "stolen" and emphasized the need for a renewed push to reassert the PDP's political strength at the subnational level.

He referenced the recent departures of several governors from the PDP to the APC, including Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo, highlighting the challenges faced by the party due to these defections.
