Wike Urges PDP to Reclaim Defectors and Strengthen Opposition

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to intensify efforts to reclaim defectors and strengthen the party's role as a formidable opposition force. Wike made this statement during a courtesy visit to the PDP headquarters at Wadata Plaza in Abuja on Friday.

He reaffirmed that the PDP remains the principal opposition party and criticized the African Democratic Congress for claiming electoral victories without merit. Wike acknowledged the challenges the PDP faces but expressed confidence in the leadership's ability to restore the party to its former glory.

He emphasized the importance of hard work and sacrifice to move the party forward, particularly in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Wike also highlighted the need for the party to attract back its defectors and ensure unity among its members.

PDP Chairman Abdurahman Moha welcomed Wike's visit, describing it as significant for the party's progress.
