Wike Urges PDP Leadership to Reclaim Defectors

During a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, called on the newly elected chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the National Working Committee (NWC) to focus on reclaiming party defectors. Wike, a loyal member since 1998, expressed his commitment to the PDP and highlighted the importance of unity and transparency within the party.

He acknowledged the challenges faced during crises but emphasized the need for the party to move forward and prepare for the 2027 elections. Wike also thanked the NWC for their efforts in reclaiming the national secretariat and urged them to engage with defectors to encourage their return.

He reassured members of the party's commitment to addressing past leadership mistakes and fostering an environment of openness. The NEC approved a timeline for party registration and the purchase of forms for upcoming primaries, with further announcements expected from the NWC.
