Melaye Vows to Resist Rigging in 2027 Nigerian Elections

Dino Melaye, a former federal lawmaker and senator, has declared that he and the opposition will "vehemently resist" any attempts to rig the 2027 elections in Nigeria. In a video obtained from a political Facebook page, Melaye warned that the country is facing political unrest due to potential manipulation of the electoral process to favor President Bola Tinubu.

He expressed concerns that such actions could plunge Nigeria into crisis, insisting that the opposition will not accept any outcomes that lack credibility. Melaye further claimed that the situation could force the president to flee office, asserting that the opposition remains determined to challenge any alleged attempts to undermine the electoral process.

He emphasized that the people will speak through their power, stating that the 1% cannot oppress the 99% and referenced Indonesia as a potential parallel, although he did not provide specific evidence to support his claims.
