Weak leaders running to APC – Former PDP spokesman slams defectors

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, criticized recent defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a sign of weak leadership. Odeyemi stated that true leaders should have the courage to stay and resolve internal issues within their party, rather than defecting.

He emphasized that every political party faces challenges, and a true leader is known for their ability to manage crises instead of abandoning ship. Odeyemi highlighted that despite defections, the PDP remains strong and united, citing the example of former Vice President and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar who has left and returned to the party multiple times.

Odeyemi concluded by stating that the motto of the PDP is that the party belongs to the people, and no individual's exit can make the party crumble.
