Ondo APC Elders Question Aiyedatiwa's Reconciliation Efforts

On Wednesday, elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, operating under the PBAT Mandate Forum, stated they were unaware of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's reconciliation committee aimed at unifying party members ahead of the 2027 general elections. The forum's Chairman, Demola Ijabiyi, criticized Aiyedatiwa's commitment to the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, suggesting that the governor's efforts to rally support have been largely ineffective.

Ijabiyi noted that Aiyedatiwa's initiatives, including the launch of various support groups, have failed to create significant political impact and that his Governor’s Advisory Council has been largely inactive. Furthermore, he highlighted concerns regarding the governor's dissatisfaction with the selection process for National Assembly candidates and the diminished influence over State House of Assembly candidates.

The elders were particularly disturbed by reports of Aiyedatiwa hosting a prominent opposition senatorial candidate, which they felt undermined party unity.
