Plateau MOPOL Officers Demand Unpaid Allowances After 7 Months

Mobile Police (MOPOL) officers deployed from Kano State to various local government areas in Plateau, including Jos South, Barkin Ladi, and Bokkos, have reported not receiving their agreed monthly allowance of N150,000 each for seven months. They were deployed in December 2025 and initially received their allowance for that month but have not been compensated from January to July.

The officers claim that the Plateau State government releases the funds monthly, but they do not reach them, leading to suspicions of diversion. The officers, who are stationed in remote areas, express that their salaries are insufficient to cover basic needs, and they rely on the allowances to support their families.

They have attempted to seek redress but have seen no results. They are urging the Inspector General of Police and other stakeholders to investigate the situation.

As of the report, SP Alabo Alfred, spokesperson for the Plateau State Police command, had not responded to inquiries.
