Kwankwaso Defends Obi Against Shettima's Criticism
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), responded to Vice-President Kashim Shettima's remarks about Peter Obi, the party's presidential candidate. Shettima had criticized Obi, labeling him a "master of bogus statistics" and questioning his claims regarding the 2023 presidential election.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kwankwaso stated that while Obi, like anyone, could make mistakes, Shettima's criticism was unjustified. He remarked, “What else would you expect him to say?” and defended Obi's use of statistics, asserting that most of the figures presented were accurate.
Kwankwaso praised Obi's knowledge of development statistics as a positive trait for a presidential candidate. The exchange reflects ongoing political debates surrounding Obi's claims about the 2023 election results and his economic proposals.
