Goje Considers Defection to PDP After APC Primary Loss

Mohammed Danjuma Goje, a prominent political figure in Gombe State, is contemplating a move to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his loss in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary. Goje, who has served as a two-term governor and has been a senator since 2011, faced unexpected defeat when DCP Mohammed Ahmed (retd) was declared the APC candidate for the Gombe Central senatorial district after a direct primary election in May.

Goje disputed the primary results, labeling them as fake and claiming that authentic results would be released in Abuja. Despite his significant political influence and experience, Goje's name was not included in the list of successful candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last Saturday.

This has led to speculation about his potential defection to the PDP to seek a record fifth term in the National Assembly.
