Goje Rules Out Defection Amid INEC Omission for 2027

Senator Danjuma Goje, representing Gombe Central, has stated he will not defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite his omission from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections. This announcement follows speculation regarding his political future after losing the APC senatorial ticket for Gombe Central.

Goje addressed his supporters at his residence in Gombe, emphasizing that he is currently consulting with political stakeholders and will reveal his next political steps at an appropriate time. He urged his supporters to remain loyal to the party's leaders and to prepare for his eventual directive, stating, “Do not listen to betrayers, go home, prepare, be loyal to our party leaders and wait for my final order.” Goje has represented Gombe Central in the Senate since 2011 and reassured his supporters that he would stand by them regardless of whether he secures a Senate ticket.
