WHO Report Reveals Nigeria's High Road Death Rate; FRSC Intensifies Efforts

The World Health Organization's Global Status Report on Road Safety 2023 has raised concerns about Nigeria having one of the highest road death rates in Africa, with a worrisome number of deaths per population. Justice Monica Dongban Mensem of Kwapda Road Safety Demand highlighted these alarming statistics during a press briefing in Abuja.

Nigeria is facing a significant challenge in reducing road traffic deaths, prompting the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intensify efforts in preventing road crashes and saving lives. The FRSC plans to establish trauma centers across the country to address the increasing tide of road accidents and protect Nigerian road users.
