Who Was The Money Paid To? – ₦3 Million ‘Bribes For Bills’ Allegation Rocks National Assembly

A scandal has erupted in the National Assembly as allegations of ₦3 million bribes for bills have surfaced. Auyo, a House member representing Hausa Federal Constituency in Jigawa State, claimed that a fellow lawmaker paid a hefty sum to push a bill through the Green Chamber.

However, the House leadership, through spokesman Akin Rotimi, has refuted the allegations and demanded concrete evidence from Auyo upon the resumption of plenary. Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda dismissed the claims, stating that he has never paid money for a bill to be passed in his 14 years in the House.

Other members, including Sada Soli from Katsina State and Joshua Gana from Niger State, have also denied the bribery allegations. The House is awaiting Auyo's evidence as the Ethics Committee prepares to investigate the matter.
