Peter Obi Critiques Tinubu on Nigeria's Power Crisis

Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate and prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, criticized President Bola Tinubu for his administration's inability to ensure stable electricity supply in Nigeria. In a statement, Obi reminded Tinubu of his campaign promise to deliver steady electricity within four years, noting that after thirty-two months in office, the situation remains dire.

Obi expressed concern over plans to disconnect Aso Rock from the national grid while Nigerians continue to struggle with unfulfilled electoral promises. He pointed out that the 2025 budget allocates N10 billion for solar power at Aso Rock, which he deemed a gross neglect of the broader national power issues.

Obi argued that the government's approach reflects a lack of commitment to improving the electricity grid and called for leadership that prioritizes the needs of ordinary Nigerians. He emphasized that the government cannot isolate itself from the daily struggles of the populace, especially when it comes to securing reliable power.
