CPC State Chairmen Forum Members Defect from APC to Support Atiku Abubakar

The CPC State Chairmen Forum explained why 16 of its members defected from the APC to support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. The Forum cited neglect of the CPC bloc within the ruling party as the main reason for the defection, despite being part of the coalition that brought the APC to power.

The defected members denied endorsing Atiku for the forthcoming general election. While 16 out of 37 members pledged allegiance to Atiku, the remaining 20 members reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and its leader, Bola Tinubu.

The defection highlights internal rifts within the APC ahead of the upcoming elections.
