APC, ADC, PDP Delay Presidential Campaign Council Launch

As the 2027 presidential and National Assembly campaigns commenced on August 19, major political parties in Nigeria, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Allied People’s Movement (APM), have yet to inaugurate their campaign councils. The APC announced its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on August 22, with President Bola Tinubu as chairman, Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General, and Senator Hope Uzodinma as Secretary.

However, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, the APC's national secretary, stated that campaigns can proceed without the formal inauguration of the PCC. He emphasized that the party has already begun its campaign activities, citing events in Kano and Rivers State where party leaders welcomed new members.

The ADC also indicated that its campaign committee would be inaugurated soon, while the APM plans to do so on the following Monday. Bashiru dismissed concerns over the delay, asserting that the inauguration is merely a ceremonial event.
